The Dominican Republic has five major airports. The busiest are Las Américas International Airport, about 20 mi outside Santo Domingo; Puerto Plata International Gregorio Luperon Airport, about 7 mi east of Playa Dorada; and Punta Cana International Airport. The La Romana-Casa de Campo International Airport and Cibao International Airport in Santiago are also getting an increasing number of international flights.
