Just recently toured a cave where they had found selenite and was wondering if it is useful for something other than it looks magnificent, like crystals.

Selenite is a variety of gypsum that shows a pearl-like luster and is described as having a moon-like glow. It is translucent in oils, but in aqueous mediums it is a permanent white with good covering power, and adds a pearlescent luster to paint.
