Hi,
I presume you have tried all the normal methods of looking in Horse and Hounds and adds in Tack rooms and feed stores. The most important piece of advice is don't be in a hurry, I spent ages before I bought, he is a Irish sports horse like you want and worth every penny. I presume also that your daughter is old enough and experienced enough to back the horse herself as you will not get a sound ISH for that money that is backed without problems. If you have tried these methods unsuccessfully drop me a line and I'll tell you the very best way to find a horse.

Hope that helps PP

The budget is limited but it is possible to buy a horse for that amount if you shop around. You will probably have to consider something that is very green or has problems or is an older horse but they are out there. Another route would be to contact the ILPH (International League for the Protection of
Horses) or the Blue Cross as these are both rescue centres which will loan you a horse which has been rehabilitated. This way you are responsible for the upkeep of the horse but do not have the initial financial outlay. Alternatively look for one on loan - try www.horseandhound.co.uk

Realisticly, if you are looking to buy a nice TBxID that isn't completely mental or got some other issues eg soundness I would be expecting to pay a minimum of £2500 but probably nearer £4000 hence suggesting the loan option.

Good luck!

Try this site www.horsemart.co.uk you can search on a number of variables including size of horse, price, and county - so you can narrow it down to your price range and how far you are prepared to travel. Prices generally seem higher in the south but there are some horses on this site at your budget - you need to consider something that's either quite young or quite old given the budget - alternatively if you don't mind a horse with a vice you could get a good bargain (not all vices are a problem - depends how your going to keep them)

Just ignore the ignorant people, there are too many of them when it comes to horses, I have 2 horses but I live in Spain so I wouldn't know where to buy them in the UK, but.......I do get the Magazine "Horse" from the UK and in it is all sorts of horses for sale all over the UK, I am sure you will find something in that magazine that is what you are looking for and at the price you are asking. Good luck with ur searching.

first of all, find someone who DOES know about horses, maybe even a vet who specialises. Your best bet with the money you can afford is to go to an auction. Your vet/knowledgable person will be able to tell you which horses are worth the money. You don't want one with a load of health problems. Secondly get a few books about caring for horses. They cost a fortune to keep what with farriery, teeth, vet visits, food, saddlery, stabling, land etc etc etc. I hope you can afford it financially. Its a real burden.

go to google and type "horse for sale england" there are a million websites thats how i found my horses.

one thing i would say is that yu'l be lucky to get a IDxTB for £1500....unless you dont want it to come with tack??? or unless you dont mind if it isn't backed yet or something, i think you'll need a larger budget than that in my experience

Go to a local stables, how did you earn so much money that you can buy your girl a horsie and you're too thick to know how to go about getting one?

Enquiring minds would love to know?
