Max would be 5 times when my period is coming and I just can't stop eating.

Otherwise would be 2-3x a day.

Try eating little but more times in a day.

Different people have different eating habits. Some people eat three square meals a day, others eat small portions of food 5/6/7 or even 8 times a day. Whatever your eating habit, exercise is very important.

Well, it is actually healthier to eat 5 to 6 smaller meals in a day. It curbs your appetite and keeps you from gaining weight. But, eight meals in a day is probably excessive. Your total calorie intake should still be between 1500 and 2000 calories in a day, unless you are an active person, then you could probably eat about 2200 calories. Also, it is important to make sure that those meals, however many you eat, are balanced - fruits, veggies, protein, carbs. Keep refined sugars and fats to a minimum. You can find sodas and snacks at health food stores that are free of refined sugar, plus they are really tasty.

On days when I run, I eat five very small meals. On other days I only eat twice. Why the heck would you eat 8 times in a day?

It's not how often you eat, it's what you eat and in what quantity. I think I eat maybe nine or ten times a day but only two of those are actual meals. The rest is fruit or vegetable based snacks with the occasional cracker to keep up my metabolism.
