First man- Yuri Gagarin
First two women in space- Valentina Tereshkova, and Svetlana Savitskaya.

The first man in space was Yuri Gagarin - April 1961.
The first woman in space was Valentina Tereshkova - June 1963.
The second woman in space was Svetlana Savitskaya - August 1982.
P.S. Yang Liwei was not THE first man in space - he was CHINA'S first man in space (2003).

Sally Ride..Christa McCauliff(well I am not sure if she technically made it into space) the first man I think was Neil Armstrong(or he could have just been the first to walk on the moon)
