Looking for a book that came out in 2005? the main character protects the guardians of the world.?

The main character is helping or protecting 2 brothers who are the guardains of the world. This is all I can remember. I remember reading the book cover sometime in 2005 or fall 2004 and thinking I would come back and buy it. But I could never remember the name. It is a fiction, probably listed as a mystery or thriller.

Try David Eddings. He wrote a book called 'The Elder Ones'(I think that's the name of it) and a sequel to it. Those might be the books you're looking for.
