It's gonna hurt, I'll tell ya right off the bat, but it'll be healed in NO TIME AT ALL.
take a q-tip swab, dip it in hydrogen peroxide, and then scrub the HELL out of the sore for a few seconds. Oh my god, it will hurt, the sore will actually turn WHITE (you are done with it's this big white blob), rinse a few times...in a few hours, it will be almost healed (no pain) and by tomorrow, 99% gone.

Here's a tip on how NOT to get canker sores (we're talking the stuff on your gums or inside lips--if its the outside of your lips, it's herpes)--do not use "tartar control" toothpaste. And get a "soft" toothbrush.

The salt and peroxide suggestions are good ones, but my boyfriend had me put baking soda on a bad one I had last month and it worked great. It stung at first like the dickins, lol, and tastes nasty but it healed real quick. Just dabb a little right on the sore and try to let it sit for a min or two, then take some warm water and rince, swishing it around a bit and then spit it out. Worked for me! Hope it helps you too!

Canker sores generally go away by themselves, and in most cases, you can safely ignore them. Many doctors suggest the use of over-the-counter ointments to relieve the discomfort of a canker sore -- such as those for a toothache.................

Coffee grounds can be put on it. Avoid toothpastes with floride. Do NOT use hydrogen peroxide as it kills good bacteria as well and can slow the healing or cause other problems!!!
