Don't know about Germany, thought I've visited it once.

Lax laws and "wrong becoming right" is what spells the high crime rate in America.

I imagine some of this is spilling over to other similar societies, of which Germany may be a part.

There are other places in the world where crime is relatively unknown, and I'm hoping some answers reveal such places.

I don't know about percentages. But, in Germany there is less violent crime. It's harder to get a gun. The closer you live to the Polish/Russian border area, the better car kill-switch you need. The biggest threat is pickpockets with backpacks leaving you very vurnerable.

A little different story in big cities like Berlin, Potsdam, or Dresden. Skinheads are bad but rare. Racism is not tolerated and the laws are strictly enforced.

No, it's a different world. I've observed quiet often single women out walking at night and that's just natural.
