Yes, most of the voters in this country are sheep. They can't even defend their positions intelligently. They're just repeating back what they've heard. In fact, they seem to be more gullible than the Germans were, because Hitler was at least an eloquent speaker. Americans should stop just repeating propaganda and read some history books and classic novels like George Orwell's 1984 and Animal Farm. They're so used to calling this "the land of the free" they don't even recognize how close we've come to losing that freedom.

I don't recall anyone planning a government sanctioned genocide, so, no. Similarities can be drawn but the fact of the matter is, they're two different situations involving different countries at different time periods. If you're using the fact that the average German didn't want to go to war as the only means for comparison, I can easily point out that the average -human- doesn't want to go to war. War is what extremists and leaders do at the cost of the people. Yes, some people do get caught up in nationalism but the average Joe Blow from down the Row wants nothing to do with anyones war. All anyone on the planet wants is the right to live their life as they see fit.

We may not be to that point yet, but we are quickly arriving. One by one our rights in the constitution are either being altered or eliminated by our leaders, who are supposed to be representing us. WE THE PEOPLE. Our government today are more interested in special interest groups and the lobbyists that donate money, pay for votes. You may laugh if you wish, but don't cry when your rights begin to disappear. Maybe some haven't noticed because it's been something that doesn't affect them directly. What happens when it is something that does affect them. That is exactly what Hitler did. One by one the rights disappeared, then he took over. Our rights are disappearing too. Illegal wire-tapping anyone they see fit. Trying to confiscate Google records. Limiting the consumer's right to a class action lawsuit. Taking away the citizens' right to file bankruptcy, yet allowing big business to still file. Is that right? I have even heard the rumor that GWB would vote for a Constitutional Amendment that would allow him to remain in office. And hard to tell how many other things we don't know about. They tell us it is for Homeland Security. Speak to Katrina victims about Homeland Security. When will we say they have gone too far. Probably when it is too late to stop them.
Bush and his regime are sneaky, they had to abuse their power to get Rove out from an investigation. Does anyone really believe that Ken Lay just dropped over dead? It's doubtful. I think he was silenced by the powers that be.
Nostrodamas predicted 9/11. He also predicted that in the new millenium that the US would elect a leader that would make Hitler look mild.

Actually in 1939 majority of Germans stood by Hitler.Further, if any Germans were not supporting him they have no guts to say it openly. That situation was totally different from present. If American citizens don't support the wars they can express openly and Republicans might not have been voted to power.

I'm thinking it is worse. The Germans are smarter and still they got tricked into believing Bush (Oops I mean Hitler) was a good leader to get them past the economic crisis of the great depression.
