According to Recent polls 61% of Americans Don't even know the words to our national anthem...Republicans and Democrats...so should either side have any kind of political stance in America if they can't even remember the lyrics to one of the most important things in our Nations history? I think that if you don't know the words then you are too dumb to be talking about War or Politics...And you really need to educate yourself on the history of our country before you can make desicions about its future.

Amen Brother. I will say that I am a Republican and I am for the war, however you are absolutely correct whether it be Democrat Republican Communist regardless you should know the history on how this great nation was founded, and you most defiantly should know the National Anthem. If you don't, then you are not going to enough sporting events lol. Good job Derek J.

Don't you love it when people disagree but don't say why.
I think it's a little trivial but you do have a good point. If you want to b*tch and moan about the current state of things in our country you should know the words to the Star Spangled Banner (first verse at least), America the Beautiful, the pledge of allegiance (even if you're an atheist). Because if you don't know where we've been how can you take us where we're going?

Even more frightening than ignorance of The Star Spangled Banner is the general lack of any Constitutional understanding. People have never read it. People know maybe one or two Amendments. These same people opine on the state of America and her future. It's horrible.

many people that even know it sing the wrong words as they don't sing it that often during a lifetime. when you were young, you could recite it, the gettysburg address, but as you get older you forget most of it. just like a favorite song you have. in time you forget the words or sing it wrong.
