How about the NAACP? (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People?) What about BET tv? (Black Entertainment Television)? what do you think would happen if whites wanted to start White Entertainment Television? Racism will never end if the very group that cries racism is the worst offender.

Okay the United ***** College Fund has been around since the time when it was okay to call a black person a *****.
I know what you are talking about though. I don't think that it's fair that white men get to be in a position of power. I mean isn't the past (FOREVER!!!!!) long enough???
And I don't think it's a matter of racism more like whites feeling bad about once again messing over some other race....
Just my personal thoughts though...

I'm not black (African-American, nor *****), so I can only speculate....Perhaps because that word is so outdated, and is associated with a time in which blacks were more oppressed, and discriminated against (which still exists today, of course, but to a lesser degree). As for changing the name of the "United College ***** Fund" (which I'm sure has been around for decades), it's probably simply not worth the hassle. Just my 2 cents.

It's not a question of racism. That name was giving to that fund long before most black people were allowed to use the same rest room as whites, long before they could take any seat on a bus.
The fund name stays as it is because it was written into the original grant charter that this is what the fund would be called.
You, on the other hand, sound like a racist who is looking for excuses to put down another race.

I've yet to see a non-white person on Y! Answers that asks these kinds of questions. The only people that do this are white males, who are the last to admit that they were born in a position of power over almost everyone else, especially in the U.S. This country is run by white males and has been since its inception. The sooner we are rid of people like you, the sooner we can all begin to live together peacefully. YOU are the problem. Why don't you try being part of the solution?

The word ***** is not racist. It means black. So if you planned on using the word in a racist way....because you thought they were....that would probably explain why someone got upset.

You need to go to Google.com and look up the history of The UNCF and you will find out why it was named and why blacks can never be racists considering they a re the minority. You will find that at that time Americans of color were not allowed higher education in white colleges and needed to establish their own colleges and generate funding for future generations. They are simply pulling themselves up by their own boot straps, but people likee you only can find the negative in a positive situation. go figure. Please I ask you to educate yourself more before you post ignorant questions.

Good point. But it depends on who uses it. Like a white nationalist group who generally have ill will. I am not even sure when and why the *****, African -American change came.
