It's unfortunate that inequality is still sanctioned. I'm at a loss to find why anyone is threatened. The "nail in the coffin"... huh? Do you believe the country is already dead -- killed by hate mongering zealots maybe?

Marriage by the state is the granting of a legal contract bestowing certain legal benefits -- tax breaks, medical decision-making, etc. Marriage by the church is the blessing of a holy union in the eyes of God. Ironic that the holy part already is accepted in many religions but the legal part is hung up based on religious arguments.

When the MAJORITY votes AGAINST giving a Behavior group the full faith and credit clause of the constitution it is not legitimate for a Judge to strike it down. It is about legislating from the bench. In Nebraska The Majority said no, a Judge struck it down and he was reversed. I do not see your movement growing based on the reversals, in Mass. The legislature will give the population an opportunity to reverse the court and I would not be surprised if you receive another reverse. I have nothing against people who choose to live the Gay lifestyle, I do not want it advertised to children and not as a civil rights issue because it has nothing to do with race creed or national origin. the supreme court has made a few bad decisions but the numder that counts is five.

What does it mean, "homosexual movement"? Homosexuality is not a movement. It is a sexual prefernce and a life style.

And NO, I'm not threatened by two men or women that want to get married. Why should I? If they want to do that to themselves, they have my blessing.
I don't know about you- but the last nail in my coffin will be war, nuclear weapon and our dying economy. Gay marriage is my last problem.

I live in Canada, where gay marriage was recently made legal. Of course there was a huge to-do about it destroying the moral fabric of our nation, long and irrelevant debates in parliament, etc.
In the end, reasonable people won out in the decision. I do not care if gay people marry, why should I? Live and let live, they are people like everyone else, they did not choose their sexuality, and are deserving of the same rights as every one else.
The people who argued the contrary, are the same bible beating racists who think everyone who is not cast in their mold is inferior and an offense to their God, (funny that: Jesus/Mohamed, they taught tolerance, acceptance, humility and forgiveness, but a lot of religious people are all about hate, intolerance and self righteousness..).
The point is, the world has many different people, of all types and descriptions, learn to accept them, be more open minded, and grow as a human being, you and the people in your life will be the better for it.

, No! My sexuality is well established. I'm kind of like a lesbian, I'm queer for women.

Gay marriage, as they choose to call it, is dead in the water. They can have their unions or they can come up with a new name for it. Marriage as we know it is a heterosexual thing, between a man and a women. We shall keep it that way.

Homosexualtiy is not a "movement" it's a way of life. Why should you care if two men or two women want to get married?? If they love each other, and want to spend the rest of their lives together, why should they be denied??

"Nail in the coffin" is non-sensical jibberish. When someone has an actual argument, there can be an actual response.
