The 32nd G8 Summit, includes the Group of Seven countries (officially established in 1985), that meet annually in member countries, (since 1975) along with Russia, although not a full member, has been in attendance since 1994. The (7) full members include Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States; the G8 periodically meet to discuss international economic, and monetary issues. (Global Policy Making at the highest level, officially established in 1998) (The G-5 consists of the world's leading industrialized countries: France, Germany, Japan, the united Kingdom and the United States.)
In 1999 a newly formed Group of 20 (G20), with the G7, plus Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, the European Union, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, and Turkey, emerging nations who interests were not addressed during the G7 meetings.
Does anybody remember what happened last year while the UK hosted the 31st G8 summit at Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire just one day after London was chosen to host the 2012 Summer Olympics?
