Has this ever happened to you? You look at someone once/frequently and you just get a feeling that they're a nice person, you'd want to go up to them and just get to know them/be friends with them but that would be just awkward and weird in most circumstances. I wish it were possible.

Yes - you just begin talking. I met the nicest couple while letting my kids play at some random park (that I'll never go back to). They live too far away to be friends, but it's nice knowing that warm friendly people are out there. Too bad - because our daughters were playing so cool.

Yes...and they may very well be taken aback by such an advance.
You could approach them, appreciating their space, and say that you were driven to say hello, you just get a pleasant, friendly aura from them. If they smile, you are in! If they frown, apologize and move away, but all with a smile.

Absolutely, I think that is human.... I Love to talk with people I don't know... Just say hi and take it from there.... most likely that person feels the same way.....You can never have too many friends... Have fun... you never know what it can turn into..............

yea!!! its so annoying! sometimes you just wanna be friendly and the person thinks ur a freak. i wish u could just go up to a person and say and not get the "hi ur a weird person" look

the fear of getting a negative feedback sometimes stops us from approaching people whom you see are nice and good.
and that fear sometimes isolate you from making friends to strangers no matter how sincere your intentions are. yeah, i've been there. i just smile and wait for reactions. if they smile back at me then that would be a start of a friendship, if not, then i shy away...i don't usually force myself to people who doesn't find interest in me...

a good number of my male friends were total strangers whom I met on the street, bus stop, or while standing in a Queue. i have not approached a strange female, though

yeah, i know what u r taking about. just go up to them and ask what time is it. if it's a girl, ask her to help u with something, give u directions or something. usually works with girls ;)
