They are all part of the Giants organization. The San Jose Giants are a Single A farm team; the Fresno Grizzlies are Triple A. Triple A is one level below the Major Leagues. The Giants' Double A team is the Connecticut Defenders in Norwich, CT. These minor league teams all feed into the SF Giants, training players for the parent organization.

These minor league teams develop young talent for the franchise. Occasionally, they also see major leaguers coming through on rehab assignments.
As of 2015, the Fresno Grizzlies are no longer affiliated with the Giants; they are associated with the Houston Astros. The Giants' Triple AAA Farm organization (the highest level) is now the Sacramento River Cats. The San Jose Giants are the franchise's Advanced A team; I believe the A team is in Augusta, GA (Green Jackets?). The AA affiliate is the Richmond, VA Flying Squirrels. (And what could be a better pro ball team name than the Flying Squirrels?) And there are also a few prospects sprinkled around Arizona, where a lot of MLB teams, including the Giants, have Spring Training facilities. An Orange & Black Fan

I don't like the tone of your question and have decided to just forgive you for the mocking and mean treatment of Vietnam Vets. I lived for three years in a bamboo cage on my knees. I was eventually released by a sweep that was done by the military. I am now permanently disabled and I used to be fabuloous ball room dancer. Ahh those days are all over. Remember to be kind and friendly to everyone online for you do not know who has served and been beaten by the Viet Cong while living as a prisoner. Thanks

Minors .. and majors .. to put it in a nutshell .. The players that arent good enough to play in the majors go down to the minors "(single A double A triple A) .. players in minors get payed less and they stay down there untill they are good enough for the Big leagues : )
