Because she was a poor, uneducated farm girl who accepted a call from God and stepped forward to meet it, boldly, despite the fact that she was trampling over every social convention of her time.
Even if you don't believe she was called of God, the strength of her conviction and her tenacity in the face of opposition were incredible.

My idol are wise and successfull people, expecially people of religion. it is because I can learn from them and be better person.
In fact, my idols are all wise and good people.
