It's true that transgender does not indicate a sexual orientation. A transgender can be either heterosexual, bisexual, or homosexual. Why are they grouped with people of varying non-heterosexual orientations? I have asked this question from someone who I know is transgender. The explanation he gave me is that the idea is there is power in numbers. Therefore, if your cause is similar, then it is better done if everyone works together. Their cause is to gain acceptance from society for their non-traditional lifestyles, and to stop society from trying to impose their will upon them. It's about freedom to live your life as you wish, without being harrassed or intimidated, when it doesn't hurt anyone. It's about stopping discrimination and discouraging people from hating each other.

Do we have the need to discriminate. And so what if you were transgendered, if you feel safe with your group at that moment there are eventually changes and there will alway be a friend who helps you out of the closet space. And why are you using a knife in your text? Your knife throwing in words is absolutely not going to give more answers till you clear up your attitude.

I think the reason is becuase most transgendered people are also homosexual. As well as for support. As Transgendered people are a minority in the minority it would be unproductive to put them in there own group by themselfs other wise there voice may not be heard in the roar that gay and lesbians do.

They are not regarded as "normal". Society at large needs to put people into certain boxes to feel comfortable about them. These groups dont fit into any other box so they just lump together.

I think ithas to do w/ the fact that they do not follow society's norms. The other three don't have sex with who every one thinks they should and the last group don't want to be what they were physically born as.

Hey simpleton, can't you think of an intelligent question to ask? Or is that beyond your capacity? People are people, why do you insist on being put in a catagory? I hate labels, they are for small minded people like you..

Yeah you make a good point. I guess it's just because they are the four sexual preferences or whatever you want to call them that aren't just your typical boy/girl relationships that people are used to.

To many "Intelligent Social Scientists" these are considered "abnormal conditions."
personally I don't think it's any bodies business. perhaps if these folks would stop tossing their personal lives into everyones face no one would care.
