i have a pear tree thats probably 50 or more years old, that for the last tree years i havnt been able to get the pears from , because there were to high up on the tree, and by the time they would fall to the ground , they were full of bees, but the other night we had some strong winds, that brought alot of pears to the ground, i brought them into the house, and besides washing them, i want to know if there is anything else i need to do to them before i eat them

Your pear tree needs to be pruned back to a manageable size. Pesticide sprays will deter the bees and other insects. Once you harvest them, you can wash them and eat them fresh. They can also be preserved as pear jam or canned.

Good luck with your pears.

Eat with or without peeling them and enjoy them!
Cut in half, sprinkle cut side with cinnamon and bake until tender, yummy
