It is a biological necessity for preservation/propagation of human species.Otherwise, there won't be procreation and hence, the human species will face the danger of extinction.The sexual need is also known to be influenced by the menstrual cycle, being more marked around the time of ovulation.

It is a natural phenomenon.

Well I don't agree with the idea that its a biological necessity. I also don't necessarily think that women need sex. I think both sexes equally need opportunities for intimacy and some woman misinterpret that the way to achieve that is through sex.
