It sounds like any question that involves sex or a controversial issue is answered more than a simple, can-you-help-me question. Why is that? I've been asking some things that I'd like some input on, and they've have only a few answers.

Because it's easier for people to get on their soap box and rant and rave about things they have no relevant facts on, rather than take some time to give a factual, helpful answer. I've found the same thing with the few questions I've asked.

The category helps.
Try Singles & Dating, Polls & Surveys, Religion & Spirituality...
People are more likely to "browse" these areas and then see your question!

Also check time zones, questions are usually shown on the first page with "most reacently asked" at the top.

If you really want to know an answer - ask it more than once in different categories, and post with 15 - 30 mins between each one!

Hope this helps!

PS - Dolphin has a point - QUALITY not QUANTITY should be the issue!

I think it is because a lot of controversial issues everyone has an opinion on, and because a lot of it is opinionated, there really is no right or wrong answer, just your two cents worth, which everyone loves giving out anyways.

Can-you-help-me questions has only one correct answer, and most people aren't confident enough to answer that one question, or, only needs that one correct answer to be given once.

If something is controversial people are going to put in there two cents. As far as the sex questions people are interested.

Because they sound like this question .Is either easy to ask or you can chose from a million answers to give one .It atract atention and make you wana say something .They are not exact questions with exact answers .Not many people know the answers to that questions.

B/C you ask questions that not everyone knows the answer to. If you asked some stupid generic questions, you would get more answers. From looking at your questions, it looks like you get good answers so don't feel bad that you're not getting all the stupid answers that most people give/get.

Because people want an easy 2 points rather then actually be helping someone. Sex is always a biggy anyway, LOL.

I've been wondering the same thing. I had the most answers (73) with "Would you cheat if you knew he/she would never find out?" and (45) answers for "What would you do if you were appointed supreme ruler of the world?"

But I want more answers.

Its simple. There are more young people on the site then mature older people. so questions that involve adult content is more likely to have more answers.
