It can be. No matter how you call it (the Golden Rule, karma, etc.), the principles are the same: whatever you send out comes back to you. If you do something with a malicious, you can expect payback to be a b*tch. If your intent is nothing but good, then what comes back to you will also be good.

Drunk Redneck,
Depends. It could be good, very good. Jesus among others, taught that all of our works come back to us, both good and bad. Some call it Karma. I have seen it demonstrated in my life and in the lives of others. Now that I know it is for real, I try to do things that are beneficial to others as much as I can, so I get the sweet juicy payback with cherries on top.

Heard it, witnessed it, went thru it...If the payback is a bad thing then yah usually. If the person is angry with you and wants revenge what they do to you in return could be as bad if not worse. Like one year my friend dumped her bf after finding out he had lied to her about practically everything...he cut her brake lines as payback for leaving him. Payback can be a very bad thing. But if payback is a favor returned then no its not a *****. Basically whatever you do to someone else you can expect something similar done to you by them in return.

Once you have committed your deed, the doee has time to reflect and plan for getting you back.

Revenge, however, is not sweet. Oh, one might glean a modicum of satisfaction in the moment, but the long haul is heavy.

Moral is, do unto others and you would have them do unto you. Makes the world a little sweeter.

your thoughts are manifested though your actions.
check your actions and look at your life.
you are living today the world you created with your thoughts.
Your payback can be anything you want it to be
So, no payback is not always a b*tch

Yes I have heard it and its true. Unfortunately its true for the person who is getting the payback and for the person giving it. Hate always hurts the person who holds it as much as the person who is hated. I think a better saying is " Live and Let Live." Move on, better things are waiting for you.

Depends on what you're getting payed back for.

Karma, do good it comes back good, but do evil it comes back evil.

The choice is all yours, personally I prefer the good.

Could be karma. But like the bumper sticker said, "My karma just ran over your dogma."
