The answer to your question is "YES!" Manure and compost contain many beneficial organisms that help flowers with the uptake of nutrients and protect them from diseases. The organisms will also help your soil become "softer" and allow water and oxygen to enter into the rooting area.
If you decide to use a manure, make sure it's been properly composted so that it's void of any weed seeds and diseases. NEVER use fresh manure. You'll find manure in bags at most of your hardware stores.
When planting flowers, I like to use a mixture of two parts compost to one part manure and then add it to the soil (about 2 to 3 inches thick), then incorporate it into the soil using a shovel or rototiller. This should be done to a depth of at least 8 inches or more.
Make sure you keep your soil adequately moist and not saturated. ALSO keep in mind that manures/composts don't contain enough Nitrogen to provide adequate nutrition to the plants so you'll need to use another fertilizer to do that.
Hope this answers your question. GOOD LUCK with the flowers!

The answer is yas and no.
Manure is an excellent source of nutrients for plants, flowwers and trees.
The problem is that only certain types of manures help, while others kill.
For fertilizing plants, the only manure that should be used plant based. This means cow manure, horse manure, etc.. It must be from an animal that eats only plant matter.
Manure from other animals such as dogs and cats contain animal protiens and byproducts. These will actually kill the plants.
So yes, manure will help your flowers grow, but make sure you use the right type.
You may want to try Worm Castings. This is in effect worm manure (manure made by worms). This is a natural manure that is very high in nutrients.

I hope you aren't trying to make your own...from scratch!
LOL Seriously, though...
Manure is a soil amendment that should be used as a base for your garden. It should be aged for at least one year before being applied and should be mixed with peat moss and a compost such as used mushroom compost. Sometimes sand is added, depending on where you live.
The plant food you use after that will best help plants to grow, bloom and produce. The best food for your plants will be a compost tea. Also available are some organic products which are kelp-based. All applications should follow grower's or manufacturer's directions.
Here is a site that tells all about the subject:

Manure puts goodness into the soil but it's best added in winter and dug into the soil.It also depends on what type of soil you have.Go to a garden centre and buy a soil test kit it's really easy and you will then know exactly what's best for your garden. Good luck

Yes manure(fertilizer) does help. But you also have to water your garden too.
