I have a desk computer and a laptop. I spend a lot of time in waiting rooms with my mother, dur to her illness. Because I am homed schooled I have very little social life with other children my age. I play games on the lap top to pass time or use it to break the ice with potential friends. As you can imagine it is difficult keeping disk undamaged in transport. so I was wondering can I download the game of life in a way I would not need the disk when away from home?

Not exactly sure if you're asking about the old game called LIFE or simply about games in general.

In any case, SOME games will let you install the ENTIRE game so you don't need to use the CD (other than to install the game that is). SOME games allow you to install the entire game BUT CHECK to see if you have the CD inserted in a drive (for anti-piracy purposes).

Here's two things to try,

1: Install the game on your laptop, *IF* it asks for (in example) small or large Install, choose Large. Then remove the CD after install, run the game and see if it asks for the CD when you play the game.

2: SOME game CDs are not copy protected so try and make a copy of your ORIGINAL game CD and use the COPY when you take your laptop.

You need virtual drive software and an ISO (copy) of the cd. i would give you the name of the software i use but it is hard to set up. you are going to have to do more research unless someone goes into detail here.
