It is terrible to say, but I have seen a lot of ugly babies over the years. It's really hard when you talk to the parents and feel obligated to say that their baby is so cute when you know that it is far from it. I just hope that maybe they have a cute personality so it's not stretching the truth too far.

Many newborn babies are not cute because their faces become so swollen during labour and delivery. However when the swelling gets settled they do become cute. They are cute because they are small and because they have innocence on their faces.
I have seen a baby born to a mother with prolonged labour and in which the presenting part (the part that comes out first during delivery) was the face and believe it was so ugly that even the mother didn't want to accept him. The face had born so much pressure during labour and delivery that it truned to be quite ugly.
Then the mother was conselled and in 3 weeks time that baby became the cutest baby.

Yes, there are ugly babies. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with how they'll look later, though. Some babies I've seen look like old photos of Winston Churchill with a bad haircut.

No, not all babies are cute. Their parents think they are (at least they should!) but I've seen several definitely NOT cute babies. My nephew is one of them. He was the strangest newborn I've ever seen, and now that he's nearly 3, he's still not a cute kid. I feel badly for him...he's very sweet and has a great disposition, but he's just so homely and pitiful looking. Very strange looking kid...

pretty much all babies are kinda funky looking for like 2 months after they're born, when they're all wrinkly and squint eyed, but I alway lie and tell the mom her baby is the cutest most adorable liitle monkey I've ever seen

It is absolutely untrue. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that no babies are cute.

Lol, I think all babies are ugly pretty much. It's the parents that can't recognise it. It's ok though, they usually improve with age. ;-)
