Earwigs(order dermaptera)This order contains about 1100 species world wide.Dermaptera means skin wing but very few species can actually fly.Female earwig are maternal!Their identified by their short pinchers.The common name comes from a totally unfounded superstition that these insects crawl in to people's ears at night to bite them.
