If you don't want to read the router manual and implement the measures recommended, then give up wireless and go back to a wired connection.

write down the mac address for your adapter. go into your router (no doubt a 192.168.1.1 address depending on the make) and type the mac address in where the settings say to restrict the connections to the mac addresses specified.

Lock it. There are options to create a password so that outsiders cannot get in. Buffalo routers are the best!
