The US leads the world in sanctions against North Korea seeking to arm itself with nuclear weapons to attack South Korea, Japan, US, etc... does anyone really object to this? The US leads the world against extremist states promoting terrorism in the Middle East and defying the rest of the world. The US defeated the Taliban regime in Afghanistan which imposed Sharia law on its people, an abomination to human life and values, that used soccer stadiums to execute its own people and destroyed archaelogical and historical sites. The US is attempting to promote democracy and freedom of the press in Russia as well as human rights in China...
Without the US, I believe the world would just spiral out of control without a balance for the absolute lack of action of other countries who seem to not care about the future security and freedom in the world...
Maybe US should have stayed out of WWII as well. Hitler would have liked that! Iran and N. Korea would like that too.
Would you?

Let me re-phrase, would you prefer the US to stay out of world affairs? Do you believe in ensuring the rights of others and fighting for world freedom from terrorism and threats or do you believe the world should do nothing, such as the actions that most countries, i.e. France, China and Russia, seem to favor?

Ya-Sai, you are right but what about the way the US soldiers and civilians captured were treated, which is worse, humiliation or beheadings?
Thomas, you are right, the British did help but how quickly you make assumptions on MY nationality...

Just a correction... Iran never had an elected ruler, left or right. The Shah of Iran was not elected and he was the one overthrown by the Islamic Revolution.

Firstly, America did not win the war in Afganistan. A coalition won it. Im British so i egt a bit annoyed hearign an American declaring they won it, without acknowledgment of their allies, again.
Secondly, the US is the major cause for a lot of the worlds most unstable reigimes. Lets have a list, shall we Poster?

Iran
Irans democratically elected Left-wing government was violently deposed by a US backed and funded Coup. This coup, brutal in method and deed, was then deposed by a mass popular Revolution. America funded a tyranny to keep Oil cheap, now its reapingthe consequences

Iraq
Saddam was initially funded by the US to fight the above war against the new Islamic Iranian government. He was given Chemical weapons as well as billions of dollars to fight the war, and now, hes the enemy. Or at least, was.

North Korea
The American involvement in the Korean war lead to the Communists gaining mass support, i dont think carpet bombing a population is what a democratic nation should do, is it?

Therefor, America should keep its nose out of world affairs, all it does is meddle with countries to get its own aims and goals and leaves the rest of us to deal with the consequences

If the USA had stayed out of WWI, or insisted as Wilson meant to, not to make the treaty of Versailles as devastating to Germany as they did, WWII would never have happened. And they wouldn't have 'needed' a Hitler.
Problem is (for nations AND individuals) that they always do things without even considering secondary and tertiary effect of their deeds. And then are totally surprised when the effects come back to bite them in their ars.
The funny thing is, that all the men killed in the war and all the destruction that was engaged in to keep Germany from getting any prominence in Europe (and was perceived as a threat by the British Empire), has in the long run NOT worked anyway.
That much for human follies. I feel just sorry for the many young men (on both sides) that died for nothing, and their families who had to endure and rationalize their loss.

The US has some serious reflecting to do on the atrocities that the US has carried out. Vietnam, Cuba, Guatemala, the prisons of Iraq (must have seen the photos of the 'great' US treatment to the Iraqi prisoners), parts of South America.......

yes but they keep getting involved before anything has even happened thats why the US looks like crazy war maniacs. If the Afgan people wanted democracy that much i'm sure they would have had a rebellion.

Your question is way to long to read it all. But just speculating on the topic...yes we meddle to much. Things around the world, for the most part, are none of our business. It is no wonder other countries hate us. We mind their business. We go over there & shoot people, try to enforce our laws, etc... I'm sure we are doing some good but why don't we just let them blow themselves up? I wouldn't want one of their armys over here bullying us. We need to fix this country before we try to fix theirs.

You can say the USA policy in the world is visible and sound in most of the world but the Middle east. Iraq war , Israeli wars and the Israeli lobby wars.

You have many good points and I agree with you. Anti Americanism is based on envy, period. It's always lonely at the top. That can change and we shouldn't trust in the USA, trust only in God. That is the strength of this nation; trust in God. Keep it on the currency............
