Have lawn mower with engine that"skips". Sounds like clogged air filter, but cleaned and still skips. Suggestions anyone? I have had someone recommend putting Engine cleaner, "Heat" in it and letting it run, but could it be something else? I don't even know where to look next. Briggs & Stratton push lawnmower engine.

Sounds like a spark plug or wire. The gas addititive is a good idea as well. Take the existing spark plug out and take it to a small engine repair shop or auto parts store and ask for a replacement (ask them to gap it for you). The plug doesn't cost very much (couple of bucks).

You may want to look into taking certain precautions when storing your mower over the winter or off season also.

Don't waste the money on the additive.... what it needs is a simple easy removal of the cylinder head, and scraping out of all the carbon deposits.....
Can't tell you specifically about it really..... never gave HP or if it was a side valve or ohv.
