Because people these days refuse to take responsibility for themselves and so will not do anything for themselves. They want people to tell them what they want or need to know. It's too much effort to figure it out for themselves because they have to actually go to Google, come up with a search phrase that will return the best result, and click a few links to find the answer they're looking for. It's a TERRIBLE thing to ask someone to do, really. It might make them actually learn and use a skill.

Hey, google is so popular, and it become a verb.
I don't agree with google becoming a verb. Do a search on the WWW for me is the best way of say it because they are nearly 10 search engines to get the job done though google is the best

Because people are lazy idiots.
Look how many questions in the music section are "who sings that song...?," or "what is the name of that song....?"
Why would you ask that question, then wait around for a bunch of other idiots to give you a snide reply, when you could just google (or yahoo) and find out immedieatly.
I only come here to read the poop questions, and laugh at the really stupid people.

I ask myself the same question, but I wouldn't be getting my 2 points if people didn't ask questions that I could easily answer or look up on Google! Another thing is that by you having to Google for the answer, you'll learn about new things! I'm just convinced that some people ask questions to answers they already know. They probably just want to test people on their knowledge and/or research skills. Although that is only the minority.

I prefer the Yahoo! search engine but I agree with you I think answers should be based on life experience not a google search.

Google became popular because it made it easier to find things on the web than the methods before it.
Answers at yahoo is becoming popular because it makes it easier to get answers form the web (or outside it) than methods before it (i.e., Google).
Technology moves on.

I've thought about this too. Perhaps people find it more fun this way. When I answer many of these questions, I use google to help me, as a resource, anyway.

People do use it more often. Yahoo answers just reveal to some of us how many ignorant People are out there on the planet.

I only use Google. It's more fun to ask/answer questions when you know someone else is asking the same question!
