you have to do that anyway??
some of the keys are multi function which you have to use shift + 4 for example to get $
if someone has changed all the letters you can open notepad and start typing to check the keys are in the right place. if not, look at the screen to see what key is supposed to be there and put that key back in it's original place

This took me ages to figure out when it happened to me, but its simple! By default, windows, being american uses an american keyboard layout. There is sometimes a box on the bottom of the screen in the bar, saying us english. right click it and change to UK english. OR go to controll panel, select regional settings (a globe icon) select language, and select UK english, not US english.

There are 4 available options:
1. Put them back to where they should be
2. Leave them as they are
3. Get a new keyboard
4. Go to the pub and get extremely drunk
