as far as your oil leak, it could be a gasket or a seal leaking, which can be inexpensive to repair, but for the heavy white smoke from your exhaust is definitely a sign that you have a blown head gasket or a cracked head. Check under your oil fill cap to see if you have a milky white residue. If you do, then that is another sign of a blown head gasket. Im sure this is something you do not want to hear, but the symptoms you give all point to the head gasket. Take it to a reputable mechanic for diagnosis, not the person that said your oil was your problem.

Has your car been overheating? I believe it is a blown head gasket. This causes antifreeze to seep into the cylinders and comes out white out the tailpipe. Check your antifreeze levels and if its low, then most likely this is the case. Depending on your car, this is a 1000-1500$ job. Hope this helps

Sounds like your head gasket is shot. See a mechanic!! And keep your oil level up.

Or it could be whomever changed your oil was really sloppy and spilled a lot on your engine block and it's just trying to burn off.

But my instincts tell me you need to see a mechanic right away before you crack your block and need a whole new engine.

i would guess head gasket.. white smoke is a sign of burning antifreeze.. checkyour radiator fro white milky goo on the cap and or oil dipstick for white milky goo.. as far as burning the oil... it would be a blue smoke... and that would be oil rings.. sounds like its getting close to a rebuild or new motor.. wichever is more affordable.
