I want to protect a drawer on my new desk using an electro-magetic lock. I need a step- by- step guide to build one, and how I can unlock it. THanks to anyone who can help me!

Well, a simple device would have a metal sliding piece, which is affected by magnets, connected to a spring such that it always tries to stay in the locked position but will allow you to close it without having to unlock it again (angled like door latches). Then you need a strong magnet you can bring up to the lock which is strong enough to compress the spring. Good luck.
