We recently had our hardwood floors refinished and want to preserve them. Is there one particualr cleaner/polisher that is recommended? I checked at our local hardware store and there seems to be a pletheora of products but not sure which one to use for general cleaning that won't cause build up or cause the finish to erode. Thank you

I just found a product that works well. It is Bona Swedish Formula hardwood floor cleaner. You spray a small area of floor with the cleaner, then wipe it with a swiffer-like floor cloth. I bought a kit that included the swiffer-like item (the cloth can be removed for laundering) and the cleaner. Its is recommended for finished floors, with a unwaxed finish.

I have found using a spray bottle with 2:1 white vinegar and water keeps my floors clean and residue free. I use a mop with a terry cloth cover that is removeable for cleaning. I just spritz and mop. If you are in a hurry spritz and use your foot on an old towel. This is great for traffic areas. Good luck!

Never, ever, use soap and water on wood floors, whether finished or not.

There are several really good products on the market, depending if your floors have a finish (such as laquer) or if they are just stained with a varnish. Depending on how your floors have been done, will determine which product you purchase. And price range.

look for a product call BONA. It's a little on the expensive side, but it's a very good hardwood floor cleaner and leaves no residue.

Don't use wet mop. Use dry mop to sweep. Water will make your wood peel out.
