Don't beleive the propaganda we are subjected to.

This is how the current conflict came about:-

"basically the current stage of what's going on -- there's a lot more -- begins with the Hamas election, back the end of January. Israel and the United States at once announced that they were going to punish the people of Palestine for voting the wrong way in a free election. And the punishment has been severe.

At the same time, it's partly in Gaza, and sort of hidden in a way, but even more extreme in the West Bank, where Olmert announced his annexation program, what’s euphemistically called “convergence” and described here often as a “withdrawal,” but in fact it’s a formalization of the program of annexing the valuable lands, most of the resources, including water, of the West Bank and cantonizing the rest and imprisoning it, since he also announced that Israel would take over the Jordan Valley. Well, that proceeds without extreme violence or nothing much said about it.

Gaza, itself, the latest phase, began on June 24. It was when Israel abducted two Gaza civilians, a doctor and his brother. We don't know their names. You don’t know the names of victims. They were taken to Israel, presumably, and nobody knows their fate. The next day, something happened, which we do know about, a lot. Militants in Gaza, probably Islamic Jihad, abducted an Israeli soldier across the border. That’s Corporal Gilad Shalit. And that's well known; first abduction is not. Then followed the escalation of Israeli attacks on Gaza, which I don’t have to repeat. It’s reported on adequately.

The next stage was Hezbollah's abduction of two Israeli soldiers, they say on the border. Their official reason for this is that they are aiming for prisoner release. There are a few, nobody knows how many. Officially, there are three Lebanese prisoners in Israel. There's allegedly a couple hundred people missing. Who knows where they are?

But the real reason, I think it's generally agreed by analysts, is that -- I’ll read from the Financial Times, which happens to be right in front of me. “The timing and scale of its attack suggest it was partly intended to reduce the pressure on Palestinians by forcing Israel to fight on two fronts simultaneously.” David Hearst, who knows this area well, describes it, I think this morning, as a display of solidarity with suffering people, the clinching impulse."

Apparently from the responses, many are not seeing the Israeli lies.

Israel backed the US (which is totally controlled by the Zionist lobby) and the western communities are feeding these lies more and more, but some have already begun to see through these lies and there are many informative websites that are now available that give true and correct information.

The real problem is that some, actually the majority don’t want to even consider anything other than what they have been fed for years because it would simply jeopardize everything they have believed in – It’s much safer to just go on believing the lies, than to have to face the truth.

Those who fear seeing the truth are those who get really abusive and insulting when you question any of their beliefs.

It’s pathetic, because if these people really wanted peace, then they would have to understand the “real situation – you cannot make a real difference if you are un-informed or misinformed.

I have a few resources that I believe provide really valuable information for those who would have the courage to see opposing views.

Nothing lasts forever and eventually the truth has to come out and be seen – Even FOX has posted a very interesting video about Israel’s involvement in 9/11.

Do you really think anyone will read the crap you keep posting on every page here? Do you even have your own opinions?

Where are the sources for all the claims in this article? Chomsky is wisely known as anti-Israeli (however Jewish), and he is far from being credible.

Why do you/he think that Israel is trying to imprison the Palestinians and annex their territories. Israel would have given up the terrirtories a long time ago if its safety was assured. Instead, the Palestinian Authority's #1 mission was the destruction of Israel, and they didn't even hide it.

Look what happens when Israel withdraws. Others see it as a sign of weakness. Israel pulled out from Gaza => Qassam rockets on its cities. Israel pulled out from Lebanon => Katyusha rockets.

No country in the world will allow another country to bomb it with rockets.

No matter what you THINK you know about the reasoning and intent behind politicians, politics and world government... You don't know half of the why's and how come's and what you do think you know will never be enough to justify and explain it properly from a completely objective point of view. So just be like most good little ignorant americans and get off the band wagon man... It only goes round in circles and comes back to kick you in your own *** and no matter what you say or believe for or against it, you will end up looking nothing but ignorant in the end.

To R.J. (below) Yet another violent end result by yet another ignorant american war monger. Since you're so good with Latin. (Which considering your skills at being a human, I am quite suprised.) Here you go... read this. "Homo et Humanitatis expers et vitae communis ignarus. Si Decem Habeas linguas mutum esse addecet." Anyone who claims to know what this or any other Government is up to and why (that doesn't work for the government) Is a bonehead. Point in case. Thanks for the example!

Statements to the press and official announcements attempt to appease nobody and answer nothing. So, we need to disregard official pontifications and look at the problem objectively and honestly.

Let's review history and determine if Israel has a right to exist. I believe they do, because they have the technology and power to do what they want. In addition, they have the backing of some of the most powerful countries in the world. That is the way human civilization has evolved. The one with the biggest stick wins. However, Israel is fighting only to exist, not to conquer another country or to change the philosophy of another country.

Palestine has a right to exist also. However, if she is not strong enough and/or doesn't have enough powerful friends who are willing to support her, she will become just a footnote to history. I don't see that strength right now.

The only way that a country can survive in these modern times is to educate its people and instill in them the need to work alongside other nations and attempt to coexist with one another. Attempting to convert other countries to ones own philosophies will result only in conflict.

Those eyes who can see nothing but their own selfishness are blinded by Gods will. But the truth is prevailing in the hearts and minds of people of the world. Israel is a fake regime and it's the colony of racists built by the British colonists. They will all have to learn to respect the true owners of these soils or vanish.

PS. There are a bunch of people around that are propagating nonsense for 1$ a day. Don't let them bring you down and continue spreading the truth you believe in.

Your information does appears a bit warped...
You seem to be defending Hamas, a terrorist. Research this terrorist before condemning Israel.

Hamas is a Palestinian Sunni Islamist organization that currently forms the democratically elected government of the Palestinian people. It is listed as a terrorist organization by Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Israel, and the United States, and is banned in Jordan.

Created in 1987 by Shaikh Ahmed Yassin of the Gaza wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas is known chiefly for its suicide bombings and other attacks directed against Israeli civilians, as well as military and security forces targets. Hamas' charter (written in 1988 and still in force) calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and its replacement with a Palestinian Islamic state in the area that is now Israel, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip.
According to the U.S. State Dept, Hamas is funded by Iran, Palestinian expatriates, and private benefactors in Saudi Arabia and other Arab states. In a 2002 report, Human Rights Watch stated that Hamas' leaders "should be held accountable for the war crimes and crimes against humanity" that have been committed by its members. The same report quoted Reuven Paz, former head of research for the Shin Bet (Israeli intelligence agency), who described Hamas as "an authentic product of Palestinian society under Israeli rule, more so than the PA." (Palestinian Authority)
Hamas is opposed to the existence of Israel and has denounced the 1993 Oslo Accords, the foundation of the failed peace process, as a "betrayal of God's will".

Hezbollah, another terrorist.
Hezbollah supports the destruction of the state of Israel[55] and co-operates with other militant Islamic organizations such as Hamas in order to promote this goal.
Hezbollah has been labeled a terrorist organization by the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada,Israel and Australia the U.S. Department of State accuses Hezbollah of killing up to 300 American citizens (over 230 of whom were U.S Marines in Lebanon).
Hezbollah founded with the aid of Iran and funded by it, it follows the distinctly Shiite Islamist ideology developed by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Israel has terrorist groups on two fronts, Hamas and Hezbollah (both supported by Iran) that are determined to destroy Israel... and you are choosing to believe and side with the lies of these terrorist groups!

Propaganda? I don't think so....

Talk about propaganda!

Just face it.......the world sees that Israel is protecting itself from crazy a** terrorists. That's it plain and simple. It isn't some grand conspiracy brewed up by Israel and the US, it's a matter of right versus wrong, and Hezbollah is in the wrong. Everyone in this world, with the exception of Muslims, sees it!

Flash. All people have names.

You say this Gaza doctor and his brother were kidnapped. How do you know? If someone knows it's a doctor and his brother then they know his name. No name means no doctor and brother. No doctor and brother then no story.

Come back with a name, address and other proof of who they are.
