I think that while the intended audience was children, the books have transcended from being only for children to being for a much wider audience. I'm 26 and I love the books. My son is five and enjoys the movies. It's something that I can preread and know that later on when he's looking for a book series to read, I can offer him these.

No way man! I'm 25, and got into the books 2 years ago. I love them!

The whole mystery and intruige behind figuring out what JK Rowling will do next is great fun to discuss with others.

The novels have been made to have adult covers too.

Here are some great Potter websites!

No, J.K Rowling was very smart to use a style of writing that any age could enjoy reading. She put in everything, Action, murder, death, comedy, magic, romance. Those books have something for everyone, and all these things combined make Harry Potter a masterpiece of Literature.

No. I was 17 before I started reading the novels, and my mum read the novels at the same time. I think the popularity of the series amongst children has generated an interest in adults alike.
