My PC configuration ..
2.80Ghz Intel P4 processor, ASUS intel chipset Motherboard, Samsung SATA HDD. Is it due to RAM problem, motherboard or SMPS? I got it partitioned on a different PC but not on mine. Help me plezz

Y u want to use third party software. Please try to install Windows Xp it will ask you where to install then create new primary partition and continue installation. later u can create other partitions. If this also not possible meas drive defect :)

U don't mention what OS but I doubt u r using win98.

I had the same problem with large partitions of 1 gig using a Samsung HDD and XP until I too tried another motherboard. Swapping the motherboard did it for me the first time.

Have you tried "Partition Magic"? Otherwise a low level format of the drive and then make your partition(s).
