takes up a third of my screen. I take it off with task manager, then I loose my start menu also. It's driving me crazy and no one knows how to remove it.

Move your mouse slowly across the edge of the explorer (Task Bar?) bar. It should change to a double-ended arrow. When it does, left click and drag it to the thickness you want it. If you have too many programs open, the Task Bar will deepen to accommodate them. In Explorer they will all be in one 'box' and it will say "7 Internet Explorer" or however many windows you have open in that program.

Did you say the LEFT side of your screen? Is that where you want it? If you don't want it there and you want it at the bottom of your screen LEFT click on the EMPTY space on the toolbar, keep the button pushed down, don't release it and then drag it to the bottom of your screen. Don't drag too far otherwise it will almost disappear.

Hope this Helps Good Luck!

The bar acts just like a window you can drag the border smaller. If this don't work you may have too many icons in there. Try removing some of them.

Been a on a similar time as as a results of fact that i attempted it. Ray.......
