I am moving soon but won't no til Thur whether new place is gas or electric cooker can a place have both?

I have seen cookers on ebay one gas and one electric that i like but would i be able to fit either in my new flat. It's a new building and I was told it would depend on whether I had a window or not can a kitchen not have both??

It is a brand new kitchen so would it have the ability for both?

I don't know where you are, however there are several areas here in Scotland that ar not connected to mains gas. Don't you even know whether the place you are moving to has a kitchen window and why don't you know whether the place has gas and electric, are you sure it's not prison that you are going to ?

For gas, you will need ventialtion. I like an electric oven and a gas hob, myself. You will certainly have a cooker point in the kitchen. Whether gas is piped to the same place is another matter. You will probably have to pay to have that done.

I have a gas hob and an electric oven so yes and regulations say that new buildings have to have a window in the kitchen .

Not all apartments (flats...you must be a Brit...) can use both in any space since gas requires an exhast to prevent excess gases from building up in the room! Not advised and generally not permitted by landlords.

It'll depend on whether there is the gas mains in the kitchen. Could you call the estate agents and ask?
