I live close to New York City and whenever I'm there, I would get tourists who would ask me how to get from point A to point B. And I would tell them bogus directions. I do that on purpose so when people get lost it would be in adventure especially when you're a tourist. The only way you're gonna learn something is when you get lost and you'd have to rely on yourself to find your way. It all comes down to YOU.

They didn't say get lost but gave me the wrong directions so I would get lost. They happen to be French.

No, but I've given directions and hoped the person found the place. I always pictured them getting lost and cursing me and trying to find me again to yell at me but they can't because they're LOST!

I asked a kid on a skateboard(about 15 years old) for directions. He gave me directions that were wrong on purpose. He seemed to have a faint smirk on his face when he gave them to me. He was probably still laughing when I realized my mistake and went back the right way.

Not directly but sometimes I did get lost after they mixed me up completely.
