first it was religion, then it was health, now it is conformity.

i also think a central aim is desensitisation of children, which adults are obsessed with.

some of the health claims have been it reduces masturbation (which has now been proven to be helpful to the immune system and stress reliever)

-it used to be claimed to reduce cancer of the penis and cervix
-it is now claimed to reduce HIV, but there is the highest rate of HIV in the US (of industrialised countries) and ALSO, the highest rate of foreskin removal
-it was also claimed that foreskin removal reduces urinary tract infrections, actually the foreskin helps PREVENT UTI's

SO, the question is, WHAT JUSTIFICATION for foreskin removal will be trotted out next??

Can anyone make some predictions?

I'm thinking maybe diabetes?

obesity?

Or will adults finally own up and admit it is to desensitise children, the aim of child sexual surgery throughout history?

When will science overcome subjectivity, in this case?

Good question.

I am outraged to find recent articles saying that male genital mutilation will prevent AIDS. As if not having a foreskin somehow will shield a person from the AIDS virus.

Since it was disproven that circumcision prevented masturbation circumcision is a procedure that is continually searching for a reason to be performed.

Edited to add: Aw the hygiene argument. Also disproven. Should women also have their genitals removed so they won't have to clean them? Imagine how much easier it would be if we didn't have to wipe? Wiping is such a bother anyway. It'd be so easy to never have to need to use soap.

I don't understand why we teach our daughters to clean themselves why it would be so difficult for our sons. Infant penises are very easy to care for. Just wipe them clean with water. No special care.

Every argument for male circumcission has been used for female circumcission, which is now illeagule in the U.S. Personaly, if I ever get married and have a child nothing will be removed from it that it is born with unless it will kill it.

Is there no other intelligent question you can ask? You've been asking this question again and again. I think you need to eat the foreskin once it's chopped off.

It is simply to help keep yourself clean. Most men don't take time to clean after peeing they just shake & put away. You sweat, touch, pee....
