I believe you don't stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing!

Im all for continuing to play as you get older, but no self-respecting adult would want to be seen on a child's toy, which is effectively what a skateboard is.

Anyone still skating over the age of 25 is either mentally underdeveloped or an embarrassing idiot. And people like Tony Hawks get paid a lot of money to make themselves look like foolish over-grown children, whilst the average skater does it for nothing..which is even more stupid.

I think because anytime you see someone skateboarding, it's a kid for the most part. I think it's also that maybe people grow out of it as you get older. Like I played softball growing up, but I grew out of it. I know I could still play if I wanted to, but I've lost interest. Also, as you get older, you're body slows down and you're not as able to do some of the things you used to. I guess what I'm trying to say is that skateboarding is like any other thing that's considered to be a "kid" thing...like dolls or whatever. People just associate it with kids. As long as you're able, I see no problem with any age skateboarding.

I think people associated it with kids because of the potential for injury and the older you get, the longer it takes for injuries (like broken bones...when you are younger they are more pliable) to heal.

You are only as old as you feel and if you enjoy skateboarding until you are 100, more power to you! It sure as heck is a more exciting sport than bowling or golfing.

Ahh, spoken from the words of someone lucky enough and young enough not to have physical problems!

As the human body gets older, we begin to get problems you do not think about when you are young. We get all kinds of problems with our knees, for example, such as osteoarthritis. This is not pleasant. And it is not cured. Yes, there are things for it, but they don't often last. Our bodies stiffen, ache more, etc. The other thing is that we are not as fearless as the youth.

Do it while you can... I only gave examples as to why we don't skateboard when we get old!

I never thought that- yes that's true..I still have my barbie dolls sitting on my bookshelf n i still treat them with respect... I'm weird that way... when I was younger I thought my dolls had a spirit n I thought if I held them under water for too long or dropped them..their spirits would leave them 8-| and i was also afraid they would come alive and murder me if I tried :|

Yes but you change the games you play as you get older. When you have knee injuries it get s harder, plus you don't recover as easily from injuries.
