13? 5'4" - 140. You are OK. Your BMI (Body Mass Index) is 24. This is scientifically known to be the right way to measure whether you are over or underweight.

BMI Categories:

Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

Any number between 20 to 25 is acceptable. Just do not let this go any higher.

Considering your age, if you do exercise & eat right you will stay in line to keep you healthy.

Not a very strict diet. You're still young. You can perhaps works on eating less junk food, fried food, and takeout stuff. I'm on a diet right now trying to get down to 105-110 from 120 (now 116). Keep track of what you eat. Right it down in like a little journal and perhaps watch the calories. You don't want to be eating a small donut that has like 500 calories in it. Exercise is always nice. Doing some more exercise can be good. Make sure you DO eat though. Don't eat after like 6. I stop my time at 8 because I have dinner at 7:30. Try not to drink sodas. I've cut mine down and it really might help. Those are just a few tips. I have a list of them if you want to ask me.

No diets. Just change what you eat and when. Eat fruits, vegetables, whole (unprocessed) grains, berries, nuts (do not mix the fruit and veges in the same meal). For breakfast eat fruits, berries, nuts, and grains. For lunch eat vegetables, grains, and nuts. The nuts will give you all of the proteins that you will need. For supper (if you eat supper) eat the same kind of food that you had for breakfast. The best is an early (yet big) breakfast, around 6 am., lunch around 3 pm, and nothing else the rest of the day. Always Drink At Least 1 gal. Of Water Every Day. This water should be filtered water, not distilled (distilled water is dead water). Walk at least 1 mile after each meal (up hill as much as possible), walk quickly, do not run. Running and eating allot of protein will give you High Blood Pressure.

I think that you shouldn't diet. Just talk to your parents and doctor. They should start you off with talking to a nutritionist and have a plan for you. Then get into some physical activity. The weight will come off once you have a understanding about food. Good luck on your endeavors.
