If they flew under the sky it would be like sailing on the ocean, but if they were flying through the sky it would be more like swimming in the ocean.

In the sky for sure.

As every thing above us ay a certain height is considered as sky.

They definitely fly in the sky. The sky is all the air, I mean the atmosphere: the sun's rays make it blue. The ozone layers contain some water droplets which reflects the ultraviolet rays coming from the sun and turns blue. It is here where all the birds fly. You must notice that sky is nothing but air where aeroplanes travell and where BIRDS FLY!
