I thought it was grasshopper chirps, but it is ineffective at temperatures over 90 degrees.

I think when the cicada is singing it means there's going to be a hot spell for a few days.. don't think you can tell the temperature.. just know it is going to be very very hot!

You can compute it yourself! take the frequency of that song, then use the formula for finding the energy of a wavelength....i think it's hv...the rest is just a google away...
