When my grandmother was alive, she always made fresh bread in her wood stove. It was the most enticing smell imaginable. To eat it with real butter was indescribable. Also, the smell of my mother's Thanksgiving dinners. The smell of the turkey and dressing and pies made me float in the air. And the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree. And the smell of a little kitten's or puppy's feet. And, believe it or not, the smell of a smoke-filled disco bar back in the 1970s when everybody wore patchouli.

When I was a kid, my grandfather used to take me to the "soda shop". I used to love the smell right when you walk in the door. I can still smell the seltzer and chocolate.
