I hope this isn't that urban legend. To wit:

Subject: FWD: Tommy Hilfiger hates us...
Did you see the recent Oprah Winfrey show on which Tommy Hilfiger was a guest? Oprah asked Hilfiger if his alleged statements about people of color were true - he's been accused of saying things such as "If I had known that African-Americans, Hispanics and Asians would buy my clothes, I would not have made them so nice," and "I wish those people would not buy my clothes - they were made for upper-class whites." What did he say when Oprah asked him if he said these things? He said "Yes." Oprah immediately asked Hilfiger to leave her show.

Now, let's give Hilfiger what he's asked for - let's not buy his clothes. Boycott! Please - pass this message along.

Here's the problem: Oprah has catagorically stated that Tommy HAS NEVER appeared on her show.

Please don't get sucked into this vampire story that is a pack of lies

He said his clothes were not meant for the black race. Right? or something of the sort.

I don't buy his stuff simply because I don't like it. Alot of these designers clothes aren't meant for blacks. Look at the cuts and how they are made.

For a shorty like me with an apple bottom, that's what I better wear Apple Bottom.

I might buy polo & stuff for my sons but I really buy Rocawear, Sean John, Enyce...

I support our black clothing lines.

For me that's how it started......now I don't believe he actually said those things....but for some reason even though I like his clothes I still can't buy them. Crazy me.

I never thought wearing someones name on my a*s*s was a status indicator. Those that do make me think they have more money than sense.
