Not the main land US but american territories such as midway, saipan and adjacent island up to the island of hawaii. US main land soil are well guarded by patriot precision guided anti-missile. The only way to penetrate american soil is through terrorist attack as what they did last 9/11. In case, they have the capability to do so, patriot missile will do their part to ensure that such hostile missile will not land on their targets. US are far more technologically advance than the Koreans.

Not at the moment. But Bush will just wait until so, as in AFTER Alaska, even California is nuked. Most use the argument that N. Korea is not a threat. But what scares me is that we ACTUALLY PLAN TO WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE! Bush wants to consider Iraq a threat when they are almost a complete 180 from what the terrorist were, but then wants to sweep possible nuclear attack under the rug. This is what the American Public has returned to the White House, ladies and gentlemen. It's true, it's true.

i think they already can. they are playing a game of cat and mouse, and they sent up some missles they knew would fizzle. i think our government knows that too, otherwise why now would bush say he will be a part of talks, when he wouldn't be before?why we play their game however, i don't know. is it because china is their ally, and we are having trade with china, and hope to make them our allies? that's not going to happen. china and russia like to keep america on it's toes. they have always mistrusted the us, and wanted to be viewed as THE world power(s), and not us.they like this erratic leader of north korea, they use him.why any country would want to be the most powerful escapes me, in this age of global trade, global responsibility. global being the key word here. it's time for all countries to back off from trying to be The most anything, and just care about this world.

Hope not, and hope diplomatic solution is found before they spend more $ on useless efforts but on food.

People in North Korea are starving and dying due to lack of food. Their nut-head just has no compassion for their country-men. Those other people working for their nut-head just hasn't got the sanity to replace their nut-head.

Good things the world (leaders) is not run by nut-heads and will find a better solution for world peace.

The middle east is turning into dangerous situation; and they did not start with all those issues on missiles. Pray for peace to prevail and return soon.

Never say Never. Luckily it is my belief that whoever they bought the technology from sold them dudes. N. Korea is on the brink. If it wasn't for aid recieved for the USA they would simply starve into extinction. Like Cortez and the Aztecs, the USA could simply starve them out but with a kind heart they do not. Now who's the big screaming baby? The USA isn't killing N. Koreans. Dear Leader is.

If their co* k-eyed missle didn't go off course, I think such as one could probably make it to southern Alaska, but fall short hitting CONUS proper.

Of course, this is if it makes it past our sub force lurking in the north Pacific.

But of course you knew this.

They may have developed a long range missile but fact is they are years away from being able to attach a nuclear warhead to such a missile. It would be far too clumsy and could land on their own soil.

The closest their current missiles can come is the very southwest islands of Alaska. And I don't think they'd try to hit that, because they wouldn't do much damage, and they'd know that as soon as they tried, North Korea would be a smoldering heap.

Yes. They can already reach the USA. Look at the 3D World globe and you will see how close Alaska is to North Korea.
