Is that the coolest name there.

It's also my son's name. Is he going to grow up a gorgeous hero (although he already is, of course).

The Dr in Lost is Jack
Hero in 24 is Jack

....to name but two. I'm not imagining it, it really does pop as a name very frequently

Also - I'd forgotten the handsomest hero of them all (tho not US) - Jack Duckworth!!

Rest my case.

Two more...Jack McCoy in Law & Order and Jack in the FBI Missing Persons show. It's used because it's a "manly" name and associated with honesty, honor, integrity (think JFK). Somehow these characters wouldn't be the same if they were Brandon, Jason, Sean, Dylan, etc.

It was the name of Leonardo Di Caprio in Titanic, but other than that I can't think of any heroes named Jack. Where did you get that from? And what should they call them, Brandon? Too little-boyish for a hero.

I have noticed a lot of "Jacks" in the movies lately! I guess it's because my fiance's name is Jack.....otherwise I probably would not have noticed any other name.... And my Jack, is my hero too!

They lack imagination, it is the same reason the cinemas are full of sequels and remakes. God forbid they should try deviating from a tried and tested idea.
