I like the name Alexander! I think I would stick with Alex - I don't like when they use it for a girl, though. Xander is definitely the coolest, but not for everybody. It's got to be somebody with an edge! Ander reminds me of a comedian in my country, sounds a bit silly. Sandy is way too girly. You might like Sandro- as short for Alessandro, the Italian version.
Lex is nice too.

Alex or Lex I guess. A friend calls her son Xander and he gets called "Sandra" all the time, not sure about Ander. I know in some countries Sasha is a variant of the male name Alexander, but it sounds a bit girlie to me. I always liked Alec as well.

my names alexander, and most times if people call me xander, ander or alexander it an insult. i've never been called anythign but Alex, so i would definately recommend that name. It pretty much wipes out all the name changing insults people can lay down on you. with xander or ander people will call you gay, without a doubt. But alex is so common they won't have anythign to say.

Xander's a cool nickname, like the guy out of Buffy (don't know if it's the same name though, but I'm guessing the names sound the same).

well as an Alexander myself, i just use the boring Alex, but i have always likes Xander, although it is a bit over the top, but Lex is good, though would never use it myself. and as for Sandy thats just...... nah.
