The first word is objectional to religious people. The second word is still considered obscene. The Third word in no considered a hate word. And , I am guessing this was being aired before 9:00PM CST. The first hour of priome time is strongly censored, the second hour is somewhat scensored, and the third hour is hardly censored. And After the news censorship is very lax. You just caught the sow at the wrong time of day.

Because network television is transmitted through open air frequencies and as such are controlled by the Federal Communications Committee. The FCC has regulations on the use of profanities on the airwaves and prohibit the use of the infamous "Seven Dirty Words", particulary when a program is being shown on a time slot that can be regularly seen by children.

Ratings are only a Guildline, not a restrcition. Well... there is a restriction to kids who are underage who want to see rated R movies but that is becasue rated R movies do have a lot more content.
So, no, ratings don't tell you what you will be able to handle, that is a matter in your hands (and his).
